The Customs & Border Control Service (CBC) would like to announce that on the 1st December 2019 a 27 year old Caymanian female was arrested at the Owen Roberts International Airport on suspicion of importing cocaine on a flight from our Sister Islands. A 44 year old Caymanian male was subsequently arrested in connection with this case.

On the 26th November 2019 in an unrelated case, CBC officers also intercepted approximately 10lbs of ganja which was being imported via a FEDEX shipment.

Director of CBC Charles Clifford commended his CBC officers for their diligence and commitment to intercepting illegal drugs. He said “These two most recent arrests demonstrate our consistent resolve to pursue and bring to justice persons who commit offences against our laws.”

Both matters remain active investigations.
