The Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service (CBC) confirms that at approximately 11:00am on Wednesday, 9 March 2022, three male migrants arrived in Grand Cayman aboard an unseaworthy vessel.

 

Being unwilling and unable to continue their journey, all three migrants were taken into CBC’s custody. The three men are being temporarily held at the CBC Detention Centre for quarantine in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

 

CBC further confirms the arrival on Cayman Brac, on Thursday, 10 March 2022, of seven male migrants aboard another unseaworthy vessel. These men stated that they no longer wish to continue their journey.

 

They have been taken into CBC’s custody on Cayman Brac, where they will be placed in quarantine and processed in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

 

Once all reception formalities have been completed, the seven men will be escorted to Grand Cayman.
